Saleha Kabir has developed a comprehensive study database linked with written reports for training sonographers and SpRs with an interest in echocardiography. These are linked with a set of reports. She has given several lectures on echocardiography to nurses within the Trust.
Christopher Blauth was on the faculty for the PanThames SpR Training day on aortic stenosis at the Royal Society of Medicine.
He is Principal Investigator for the antistaphyloccal vaccine study.
Helen Rimington is on the faculty of the Barts echocardiography course and organises training for the Westminster University BSc in Cardiac Physiology for which Sacha Grinter and Anna Griffiths have lectured
Cathy Head is on the faculty of the West Midlands Echo Training Days. She teaches on Calman days for both adult and paediatric cardiology trainees and contributed to the GP update in cardiology
Anna Griffiths lectured on the Westminster Course and the BSE Introductory Course.
Stam Kapatenakis gave an invited lecture on Echo and Device Therapy at the BSE meeting.
Gerry Carr-White ran a heart failure update course for 100 general practitioners and was a member of the faculty of the Royal College of Physicians heart failure update course.
Jane Hancock organised the imaging session on the PCR TAVI course.
Jeff Davison has extended his ECG course, originally developed to allow cardiographers to progress to associate practitioners, to medical, nursing and physiotherapy students as part of the KHL academy. He has continued to build links with local universities and is the sole educational provider for the certificate of electrocardiography for the Society of Cardiological Science and Technology. This course runs twice each year. He also lectures on external university programmes. He has now devised an NVQ for clinical support workers which he runs in association with Tower Hamlets College which has already received 200 applicants.
